About the Hit Dogs Evansville

Hit Dogs Evansville Mission

We believe the game of baseball is the single most difficult sport that involves more failure than success and requires high mental fortitude and intelligence to pair with game specific skills.  Because of this belief, our mission is to develop young athletes, preparing for success on and off the field through fundamental growth in baseball and life skills including character, integrity, and respect.

About Hit Dogs Evansville

HitDogs Evansville started in 2024, bringing the 2023 Razorbacks Navy 8U AAA team led by Jeremy Belwood and Ryan Shelton to start the expansion within the Motor City Hit Dogs organization.  Motor City HitDogs was founded on one mission: to build elite-level baseball players through world-class coaching, championship-level competition, and a relentless commitment to development. Owned and led by Scott Leonard and Tony Leonard, the HitDogs program has become a nationally respected powerhouse in youth and travel baseball.

The Evansville expansion is led by decades of combined coaching experience with an approach to training blended with tough love, fundamentals, and a next-level-prep mentality from the youngest age levels. Our philosophy is centered in a process minded training program with a minimum of 2 trainings per week and multiple breakout skill sessions in catching, hitting, glove work, speed and agility, and pitching.  The team has partnered with Athletic Republic of Evansville to offer additional training opportunities and players to develop their craft year-round.

From USSSA Super NIT titles to Perfect Game national trophies, the HitDogs culture is centered on accountability, competition, and opportunity. Whether you’re 9U or 16U, local or national, the HitDogs program challenges athletes to rise to their potential — and gives them the tools to get there.

Our Vision

Our vision is to continue to grow the HitDogs Organization in Southern Indiana through elite-level, process driven training while keeping costs to our families and players affordable, ensuring we are never leaving players behind no matter their socioeconomic status.
